A "strategic plan" has been on my short list of priorities since I took over as chairman - this took it much farther down the road to implementation that I had imagined. I can see that many of the department heads (committee chairs) really understand now how to get their heads around what they do. They come from so many different backgrounds, but now have a common language that will definitely improve communication as we go along. I have also heard from several of our key volunteers and they too were elated to have had this. There was a sense of optimism about hearing the collective "caring" for the mission - even though there are challenges all around.
